Tim Farron: Windermere bank closure 'will hit elderly & disabled'

South Lakeland MP Tim Farron has criticised the planned closure of HSBC's Windermere branch, believing that closing the branch will leave elderly and disabled customers without local bank access.

HSBC has claimed that customers can simply transfer to their Kendal branch, but Farron has pointed out that this branch does not have disabled access.

If the closure goes ahead, customers with reduced mobility could end up travelling as far as Ulverston, Lancaster or Keswick in order to visit their nearest branch:
