MIND launches mental health helpline for Cumbria

MindLine Cumbria launches helpline Credit: MIND

A mental health helpline has been launched to help people in Cumbria. MindLine Cumbria is the county’s first dedicated mental health helpline.

The service will give practical information about mental health, what services and support are available to you and information about your rights.

It will also help you talk through your concerns, understand your problems better, explore your options, or just be there to listen when you are feeling distressed, alone or unable to see a way forward.

MindLine Cumbria is delivered by trained staff with both excellent knowledge of mental health issues and services available locally.

The five local Mind groups in Cumbria (Carlisle Eden, West Cumbria, South Lakeland, Ulverston and Furness) have been providing telephone-based information and support to people across the county for more than 25 years. In response to increasing numbers of calls they have now launched MindLine Cumbria, a centralised service with extended opening hours.

The helpline is available via telephone, text and webchat on Monday to Fridays between 12 midday and 9pm and on Saturdays between 5pm and 9pm. More detail about the helpline can be found on MIND's website.
