The Langholm Common Riding comes to the Borders

The 2016 Langholm Common Riding is underway, celebrating the town's history and tradition.

The event started at 5am with the flute band parading the town and ends at 9.30pm as the cornet hands back the flag in front of the town hall.

Thousands of people are expected at the town's annual festival.

The ancient tradition of marking the boundaries of the town on horseback is around 250 years old.
