Drovers Rest named Cumbria's Pub of the Year for second year running
A pub on the outskirts of Carlisle has served up a double - by scooping the Campaign For Real Ale's (CAMRA) Pub of the Year Award for the second year running.
The Drovers Rest, at Monkhill, came out top of the voting, beating pubs from the three other CAMRA branches around the county.
It now goes forward to the regional voting, for the West Pennines area, before progressing to the national final.
Last year, The Drovers made it to the national final four of the competition.
Other Cumbrian pubs highly rated in the contest included The Strands at Nether Wasdale, The Prince of Wales in Foxfield and Hawkshead brewery's impressive brewery tap, The Beer Hall, in Staveley.
The Drovers serves just over 460 real ales. A presentation marking the win will be made to The Drovers at 2 pm, this coming Saturday.
