Tributes to 'dedicated soldier' from D&G who died while training

Tributes have been flooding in for a soldier from Dumfries and Galloway, who died in a training exercise.

Josh Hoole, 26, from Ecclefechan, died on Tuesday in the Brecon area of Wales, on what was the hottest day of the year.

Josh's grandfather said:

On Facebook, tributes have been pouring in.

Ellis Gartland said: "RIP Josh you were a great section commander".

Ben Palaber wrote: "Heaven took itself another lovely person. RIP Josh Hoole taken way to soon. I am honoured to have known you mate."

And Kyle Blackburn said: "RIP Josh Hoole we are all going to miss you was never a dull moment when you were around always had something to say to me even though it was always cheek sleep tight always be proud to call you my mate x."
