Thousands affected by power cuts in Cumbria

Thousands of homes and businesses across Cumbria have been affected by power cuts, as heavy rain and storms hit the region.

Electricity North West says that the high voltage fault affecting Penrith is also affecting properties around Penruddock, Greystoke, Blencow, Motherby, and in the Milburn area.

Another fault at Wigton is affecting a number of properties in the north of Cumbria, including:

  • Dalston

  • Abbeytown

  • Newton Arlosh

  • Silloth

A local cable fault is resulting in power cuts in the Workington area, and in Stainburn.
