House set on fire and car window smashed in lightning storm
A house in Penruddock caught fire after being hit by lightning this morning.
The fire service was called to deal with the incident, and the flames were brought under control quickly, with no injuries.
However, the lightning strike caused considerable damage to the house, and also to a car in the driveway - the window was smashed by tiles which were knocked several metres from the roof of the house.
