Residents brand flood report 'weak and inaccurate'
Residents in a flood-hit Cumbrian village have branded a report into the flooding as 'weak and inaccurate'.
Glenridding flooded four times in December and January washing large quantities of rock and gravel into a beck and leaving homes and businesses under water.
Last night around 35 residents attended a public meeting at the village hall to discuss a flood report published by the Environment Agency and Cumbria County Council looking into how the flooding happened and what could be done to prevent it in future.
Residents though say the report does little to address their concerns about gravel building up especially around the main road bridge in the village.
But Environment Agency officials insist this is only a draft document, which will eventually include people's concerns, and address the issue of gravel in Glendridding Beck - something that many blame for the flooding.
