Cumbrian running legend Joss Naylor has set 12 runners on their way as they take on ten marathons around Windermere in ten days.

It's to raise money for the Brathay Trust, which runs outdoor education for disadvantaged young people.

Twelve runners have taken on the challenge, and they include a former Kirkbie Kendal School head boy, a pub landlord from Ulverston and a grandmother from Barrow.

Half of them are tackling the 'Ten in Ten' for the first time.

For Paul Dewar from Ulverston, the pain started 11 days ago when he cycled from Land's End to John O'Groats and back to Windermere in ten days.

He then set out to swim the 10.5 miles of Windermere, but his support team had to pull him out after around five hours.

Just one day later, he's beginning the ten marathons in ten days challenge.

Having finished day one, the runners are now 26.2 miles down with another 235 to go.
