A Cumbrian badminton player has secured her ticket to the Olympics after qualifying in the world's top 16.

Lauren Smith, 24, is one of the UK's best players, but still can't quite believe she'll be heading to Rio in August, with her doubles partner Heather Olver.

Lauren, from Longtown, is no stranger to performing under pressure, having won silver and bronze medals at the 2014 Commonwealth Games.

She may have qualified for the Olympics in the bottom half of the world's top 16, making her an underdog, but she's confident of causing an upset.
