New Police & Crime Commissioner outlines priorities
The newly elected Police and Crime Commissioner for Cumbria has explained which areas of the county's policing he will prioritise.
Peter McCall says the first step will be to "gain an understanding of the budget".
He will then focus on areas like domestic violence and victim support, which his predecessor Richard Rhodes also prioritised.
He intends to press ahead with plans for a Youth Commission to "give young people a voice", and help prevent people entering the criminal justice system.
Mr McCall also wants to boost the region's understanding of the role of the Police and Crime Commissioner, to increase turnout at future elections.
