Parents across Cumbria have taken their children out of school today in protest against SATS exams.
They claim the tests put too much pressure on children at an early age and primary school should be more fun.
The campaign group Let Kids Be Kids has 46,000 signatures on a national petition. Parents in Kendal, Grasmere, Cockermouth, Penrith and Carlisle held alternative activities for children.
In Kendal's Serpentine Woods, over 100 children built dens, made sculptures out of twigs and things they found in the forest and went scavenger hunting.
Their parents want to tell the Government they don't agree with the way their children are being taught and want SATS exams in years two and six to be scrapped.
The parents taking action say children learn better when they're having fun, but the Government says it's important children achieve a high standard of English and Maths, and SATS exams help to do that.
