A documentary following the work of the Great North Air Ambulance - who cover Cumbria - will return to screens next week.

'Air Ambulance ER' was filmed last summer at both the charity's bases - one in Langwathby near Penrith and the other at Durham Tees Valley Airport in the north east.

The second series will broadcast at 9pm on Monday nights on Sky One for six weeks.

Some of the episodes will feature rescues across Cumbria, with the team from the Langwathby base:

  • The rescue of a tree surgeon from the banks of Windermere.

  • A man kicked in the stomach by a horse near Coniston.

  • An encounter with an angry bull while treating a farmer in Carlisle.
