Exclusive: Meet Sellafield's transgender workers

Nicole Cowles was born Nigel Cowels. For more than 50 years she did not feel comfortable in her body.

In 2011 Nicole decided it was time to say goodbye to Nigel for good.

The last hurdle Nicole faced was finding a way to do her job at the Sellafield nuclear plant where she works at the forefront of decommissioning. Last year she was finally able to enter the site as a woman.

She describes the moment she got her new security pass as one of the best of her life.

ITV News Border was given exclusive access to Sellafield and its employees to see how the site has changed in recent years to accommodate transgender workers.
