£300,000 facelift for Kelso Racecourse
A £300,000 facelift is being planned at Kelso racecourse to modernise the track's facilities.
The project would see a new entrance and office constructed. The existing entrance dates back to the early 1800's.
The construction could be completed this summer ahead of the first meeting of the new season in September.
A planning application has been submitted to Scottish Borders Council to allow the renovation to be carried out.
Kelso's average attendance at 13 fixtures over the year rose by 12.6%, the largest increase among the five Scottish courses.
