Cumbrian footpath in line for international funding
An eroded Lake District footpath is in the running for £28,000 of international funding to pay for repairs.
Volunteers from Fix the Fells, an organisation that repairs footpaths, is asking people to vote for the path from Goat's Water to Coniston Old Man to win money from the European Outdoor Conservation Association.
During Storm Desmond in early December footpaths across the Lake District suffered millions of pounds worth of damage
The path up the Old Man of Coniston along Goat's Hawse rising above Goat's Water is a popular route that is now showing signs of extensive damage so Fix the Fells say the £28,000 is badly needed.
This project is the only English entry in the awards and it's up against tough international competition.
Voting is open from 8th to 22nd March 2016. Votes can be cast here on the European Outdoor Conservation Association website.
