Cumbrian towns amongst slowest in UK for Broadband

A town and village in Cumbria have been named amongst the slowest in the UK when it comes to Broadband speeds.

A study by cable.co.uk found that Ulverston in South Lakeland, and Gilsland to the east of Carlisle, both had "worse Broadband than Mount Everest Base Camp".

A spokesman for the company that carried out the study said slow Broadband could lead to the areas becoming "ghost towns".
