Scott Brash sculpture to be built in Peebles
A sculpture will be erected to honour the achievements of World Number One showjumper, Scott Brash, in his home town of Peebles.
Plans have been submitted for the three-metre high metal statue.
At 30-years-old, Scott has been the number one showjumper in the world for the past two years and made history by becoming the first rider to win the sport's grand slam in 2015.
He shot to fame at the 2012 London Olympics by winning the gold medal on board Hello Sanctos and was awarded an MBE in the 2013 New Year Honours List for services to equestrianism.
Community group Bonnie Peebles now want a permanent tribute to the showjumper on a flat grassy area in the Edinburgh Road area of the town where he attended secondary school.
A planning application has been submitted to Scottish Borders Council for a metal sculpture depicting a horse and rider jumping a five-bar gate surrounded by flower containers
