Dumfries is gearing up for its Burns Night street carnival on Sunday night.

The music revolution-themed carnival will feature 4,500 lanterns, hundreds of costumed performers plus floats and bands, including the Bay City Rollers - all rounded off with a fireworks display.

It's part of the town's Big Burns Supper festival, starting today, which is nine days of comedy, cabaret, carnival and music wrapped round Robert Burns' birthday.
