Junior doctors in Cumbria are set to take part in a 24-hour strike as part of a national protest over pay and conditions.

It's not known yet how many doctors will walkout but NHS bosses say contingency plans are in place to ensure as little disruption as possible.

The strike is due to get underway at 8am today. The following number of junior doctors work at these sites across Cumbria.

  • 92 Cumberland Infirmary

  • 9 West Cumberland Hospital

  • 51 Furness General Hospital

  • 20 Cumbria Partnership Foundation Trust
