Villagers in Lazonby have been protesting at the County Council's plans to cut its fire station, and retained fire fighters.
The council says it's facing huge budget cuts and has no choice but many people raised their voices today to tell them they should think again.
Almost all of Lazonby turned out to support the on-call fire fighters who may lose their jobs, if the County Council's plans go ahead to close their station, and four more in Cumbria.
The county council says it needs to save another £37m and it's already reduced its workforce by voluntary redundancies and cutting the number of managers.
Local MP Rory Stewart was among those in support of the fire station, but he had a tough crowd to convince. The cuts to local councils come from his government.
After months of protest, with no change in council opinion, these are the final days for their fight. The decision comes in two weeks.
