Power returned to almost all Cumbrian properties
Almost all properties in Cumbria should have power returned by the end of today, Electricity North West has said.
This morning around 400 were still without electricity.
More than 170 engineers have been carrying out door-to-door safety checks on equipment to safely restore power to those properties.
However, a small number of buildings are still flooded, or the damage is so bad that they will be uninhabitable for months and electricity cannot be restored safely.
A number of home owners also need to arrange for domestic electricians to carry out internal wiring checks for safety before they can be put back on mains supply.
Electricity North West says it has now completed repairs at all electricity substations, in Cumbria, and hopes to complete the door-to-door inspections today.
