The St Bee's RNLI crew were called at around 14.30 on Sunday (1st November) to reports of an injured young male around Fleswick Bay needing assistance.

The lifeboat team launched the rescue in severe foggy conditions. Cumbria Police and the Whitehaven & Maryport Coastguard also assisted the search for the injured man.

Once his location was confirmed, the man was airlifted to hospital and treated for a suspected broken ankle.
