The Chief Executive of Copeland Borough Council has today left his job, as part of a restructure that the council hopes will save nearly £150,000.

The Chief Executive's role has been cancelled, meaning Paul Walker has lost his position.

A severance package has been agreed for him, and his duties will be taken on by:

  • Director of Economic Growth, Pat Graham

  • Director of Customer and Community, Julie Betteridge

  • Director of Resources and Strategic Commissioning, Fiona Rooney

  • Elected Mayor, Mike Starkie

  • Executive members, councillors Lena Hogg, David Moore and Dave Banks

The roles of the remaining three directors will also now be scrutinised.
