The RNLI's operations director has spoken of his sadness at the closure of St Abbs Lifeboat Station, but has defended the decision to close it.
George Rawlinson said he understands the impact it will have on the local community, but that the stretch of coastline can be covered by the Eyemouth Station, which will get an extra inshore lifeboat.
Today, a team from the RNLI went to the small fishing village to close the station.
