Tomorrow is the 70th anniversary of Victory Over Japan Day, or VJ Day.

It marks the date when the Japanese announced their surrender, bringing about what many consider to be an end to the Second World War.

But not everyone stopped fighting on the 15th of August, 1945.

For two veterans from our region, the anniversary will be a time to remember the people who gave their lives, before and after, that date.

Greg Hoare went to meet Donald Rhodes, and Thomas Tuer, to find out what they remember of VJ Day, and the battles in the Far East that followed it:

ITV Border will be following the VJ Remembrance events in our region tomorrow.
