Long-lost play to be staged in Dumfries
A long-lost play is set to be staged in Dumfries.
"Bandelero The Bandit" was last performed in 1877, when author JM Barrie was just seventeen.
It was thought the play had been destroyed, but it was recently rediscovered in a collection held at Yale University in the USA.
The Scottish Youth Theatre and The Moat Brae Trust have teamed up to bring the play to life.
They're staging it at Dumfries Academy, where Barrie was once a pupil.
It's part of a new round of fundraising for Moat Brae House.
The Trust wants to raise £1.5 million to become Scotland's National Storytelling Centre.
Actor Joanna Lumley is a trustee and helped to launch today's appeal.
