Kendal Mountain Rescue team take on charity ultramarathon
Two members of Kendal's mountain rescue team are getting ready to run 55km over Lakeland fells this weekend.
Kerry Ballard and Richard Walker are running the Lakeland Trails Ultra marathon to raise money for Kendal Mountain Rescue Team and the Lake District Mountain Rescue Search Dogs Association.
Each organisation needs £70,000 a year.
But problems with Richard's health means doctors have told him he should be resting.
He's on his third kidney and is in end stage kidney failure.
The 55km ultramarathon will take the pair from Ambleside, over Red Screes, under Helvellyn and around Langdale.
They have cut off times by which they must make it to check points in order to avoid disqualification.
