Elton John hits the right notes in Cumbria

Elton John played his biggest hits to a crowd of around 13,000 people at a concert in Westmorland last night.

The 68-year-old was helicoptered in and out of the Westmorland County Show Ground.

One hundred and fifty contractors spent six days before the show preparing the venue and building the stage.

Local businesses and suppliers, including hotels and food stalls, are said to have benefited from the night.

Fans of the musician were also left pleased, with some taking to twitter to praise his performance.
