Heinz sign comes down in Kendal
After 25 years in operation the Heinz factory in Kendal has been taken over by an Irish businessman.
Today the Heinz signs were taken down and replaced by Kendal Nutricare after Ross McMahon bought the company this week.
In its heyday the site employed 300 people, but redundancies have been made in recent years.
The new company plans to keep all of the current eighty-eight jobs and additional contractors, and says it hopes to expand and take on more staff.
Some Heinz products will still be produced by the new company.
