New job for North Cumbria's medical director

North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS Trust's medical director is to take up a new role in a different region.

Dr Jeremy Rushmer has been appointed as site medical director at the Northumbria Specialist Emergency Care Hospital in Cramlington, and will begin his new job part-time from September.

He will continue with his current role with North Cumbria until a suitable successor is found.

Dr Rushmore joined North Cumbria University Hospitals NHS in 2012.

The Trust says changes made under his leadership have resulted in more lives being saved.
