Dumfries play tackles hard-hitting issues
A new play written by young people in Dumfries is set to be performed at the town's Youth Beatz festival this summer.
"Our Toon" deals with difficult subjects like bullying, drug abuse, and teenage suicide.
The young playwrights worked in partnership with local organisations, including groups focused on domestic abuse and LGBT issues, while developing their script.
They also contributed to the set design and helped to build it.
The project has cost around £50,000 to put together.
Although the council has supported it, much of the money has come from external grants.
More than 300 people have already seen it at Dumfries and Galloway Council's Youth Enquiry Service on Buccleuch Street.
