South Lakes singer reaches Britain's Got Talent semifinals

A local singer has reached the semifinals of ITV's Britain's Got Talent.

Georgie Jackson, who will be on Lookaround tonight, is part of a four-piece girl band called Misstasia and they sing Disney hits.

The 22-year-old and her friends impressed the judges at the audition stage of the competition, and are now set to appear in the live shows later this week.

Georgie joins a list of local talents who have been successful on the programme.

23-year-old opera singer Emma Jones, from Wigton, has also reached this year's semi-finals.

This isn't the first year acts from the Border region have done well.

Carlisle's Matthew Pagan is part of Collabro, who won the competition in 2014.

The group are set to released their second albumon 1 June, following the success of their debut album 'Stars'.

And boy soprano Andrew Johnston, from Dumfries, got to the final during the second series of the programme in 2008.
