Stranraer FC: 'we'll come back stronger'
It was a disappointing weekend for Stranraer FC, as they crashed out of the Scottish Championship play-offs.
They went into the second leg of the play-off semi-final with a mammoth task ahead of them - overcoming a 3-0 first leg defeat to Forfar Athletic.
Stephen Aitken's men made a strong start, pulling a goal back before half time after Michael Travis fouled Willie Gibson, and Chris Aitken converted from the spot.
But Forfar equalised shortly after the break through a penalty of their own - Gavin Swankie netting.
The result means Stranraer FC will spend next season back in Scottish League One.
But the club's Vice Chairman, Iain Dougan, says if they had been promoted to the Scottish Championship, the success could have come too soon.
He says the club's in a strong financial position, and will look to mount another promotion challenge next season:
