Your MP elect: Jamie Reed

Jamie Reed was first elected as the Labour MP for Copeland in 2005.

He was born in 1973 in Whitehaven, Cumbria and attended Whitehaven School before studying in Manchester (BA English) and Leicester (MA Mass Communications).

He worked as a press officer at Sellafield and a councillor before entering parliament.

From 2011 until 2015, he served as one of Labour's Shadow Health Ministers, under Shadow Secretary of State for Health, Andy Burnham.

Jamie's hobbies include spending time with his family, reading American literature and modern history. He also enjoys listening to music, watching football, fell walking and supports Whitehaven RLFC.
