Almost 30 mountain rescue volunteers had a surprise when they were called to reports of an injured dog - and found it belonged to Bill Bailey.

The comedian's dog was stuck on a ledge at Haystacks and appeared to be injured.

He found a local farmer who called Cockermouth Mountain Rescue team, and 29 volunteers came to help - unaware the pet's owner was famous.

Team Leader Mike Park says the team has always rescued animals as well as people, and has saved dogs, sheep, goats, horses, and even a raven, over the years.

The dog, called Tiger, was found to be uninjured, and was reunited with his owner.
