The man giving his wife a kidney
A man from Kendal is donating a kidney to his wife.
Rachael Hogg first received a kidney transplant 24 years ago, but now she needs another one.
Her husband Chris Hogg is a match and has agreed to giver her one of his.
So far this year, almost 7,000 people have been waiting for an organ donation in the UK.
But only 2,700 have received one.
Rachael Hogg will become one of the lucky minority.
When she was 18, she contracted a virus that stopped her kidneys working properly. It worsened until she was on dialysis.
Seven months later, she received a new kidney, something she says she has always been thankful for.
Now, 24 years on, she needs another kidney.
And this time, it is her husband to whom she will be grateful as he will be giving her one of his.
But he says he is just fulfilling his role as part of the family.
