The Cumbrian National Trust is to recruiting volunteers to help show off the area's scenery and attractions.

Around 150 people already donate their time and energy at Wordsworth House and Garden, in the Borrowdale and Buttermere valleys, and on the Whitehaven coast.

The conservation charity is looking for more to join them.

The Trust says no particular skills or knowledge are required, as full training and support are provided.

Wordsworth House and Garden, which was the childhood home of poets William and Dorothy Wordsworth, is looking for people of all ages to volunteer.

The house is open six days a week, including weekends, and volunteers can fit the time they spend there around school, work, family or other commitments.

Borrowdale needs volunteers to help in its shop on Derwentwater foreshore, as well as administration assistants in its office just outside Keswick..

It is also seeking tour guides for Derwent Island House and Force Crag Mine, which open five days a year.
