Cockermouth Mountain Rescuers help Boxing Day walker

A 70-year-old man from France was flown to hospital after slipping during a walk in the Lake District.

The man suffered a fracture-dislocation of the ankle on Whiteless Pike on Boxing Day.

16 members of Cockermouth Mountain Rescue Team went to the aid of the walker, he was treated by the team doctor and then flown to the Cumberland Infirmary.

Leg and foot injuries like this are the team's most common call-out.
