More than 1,000 competitors took on the 26.2 gruelling miles of the Kielder Marathon.

But there was the view to help them along - this has been dubbed the UK's most picturesque marathon, taking runners through woodland and along the undulating banks of the water.

Former Olympic athlete and world record holder Steve Cram and his wife Alison have helped organise the race.

The race started and finished at Leaplish Waterside Park.
