This summer's fine weather has come to a crashing end this weekend as rain and wind caused disruption in Cumbria.

A muslide at Brampton on the Northern Rail train line from Newcastle to Carlisle caused delays to services and replacement bus services.

East Coast warned that train services via Newcastle and Carlisle may also be disrupted or "cancelled at short notice" as the knock-on effects were felt at the stations.

Rail services will be affected for the rest of the day but Network Rail hopes to have full service resumed by Sunday morning.

Flooding at Aspatria caused delays on the Carlisle to Whitehaven line.

All trains on the West Cumbrian line are now running as the problems have been cleared.

A Brampton resident was the first to snap flooding near the River Lyne.

Paul Crabtree noticed the flooded fields on between the A7 and A6071 near Longtown.

The Environment Agency has not received any reports of flooding.
