Independence referendum: All the results from across Scotland

People in Scotland have voted and rejected independence.

The loudest voice against leaving the Union was in the south of the country in the Scottish Borders along with Dumfries and Galloway.

In the end, only four areas of the country voted in favour of an independent Scotland - Dundee, Glasgow, North Lanarkshire and West Dunbartonshire.

The turnout was huge with 84.5% of voters heading to polling stations or popping their vote in the post.

Here are the results in every area of Scotland

There are 4,283,392 voters across Scotland of which around 5% are in the ITV Border region in Dumfries & Galloway and the Scottish Borders.

One third of the voters are concentrated in just four of the 32 areas and these results will be watched closely. These are: Glasgow, Edinburgh, Fife and North Lanarkshire.
