Jobs at risk as Cumbrian retailer falls into administration

200 jobs are at risk as fashion retailer Lakeland goes into administration.

It is the UK's largest specialist retailer of fine leather goods and has head quarters based in Ambleside in the Lake District.

So far 20 jobs have been lost at four stores that have closed across the UK and Ireland. Another 200 jobs are at risk in 18 outlets that could potentially close down.

Stores have closed in K-Village Kendal, Spalding, Gloucester and Antrim. The stores left at risk, and in closing down sales are:

  • Gretna

  • Chester

  • Manchester

  • Cheshire Oaks

  • Southport

  • Beverley

  • York

  • Northallerton

  • Castleford

  • Swindon

Administrators Mctear Williams & Wood say all gift card and vouchers are being honoured and customers should use them in the next few weeks to buy merchandise but that they could not be exchanged for cash. The website will continue to trade as normal.
