Pirates, ghosts and dragons visit Cumbria
Five entertainers have competed to be crowned a fool at Muncaster Castle in West Cumbria.
The International Jesters Competition is the centre piece of the popular Muncaster Festival, now in its 10th year.
The castle's taken over, the flag's upside down, and the fools are in control.
The main focus of the festival is The International Jester's Competition. Fools have around 20 minutes to make a fool of themselves and make the audience laugh. 2 of the 5 are local.
This year there's theatre in the gardens telling fairy and ghost stories related to Muncaster Castle and Cumbria. It's performed by Rogue Theatre in conjunction with Whitehaven's Rosehill Theatre.
In the 'Muncaster Ball', there's a pirate story of smuggling at Ravenglass, a dragon story inspired by the mountains and a ghost story of a woman murdered for love, in which her body disappeared from the castle and her killers drowned.
