Students restore photographs of WW1 soldiers

Students at a school in South Cumbria are involved in a remarkable project to honour former pupils who fought in the First World War.

The students are using the latest technology to restore photos the soldiers sent to their old school a hundred years ago. And they're anxious to hear from anyone in the area who might know more.

Soldiers were sent Christmas parcels with a request to send a photograph back to the school.

The school has a photo of every single former student who served in the Great War in a unique gallery.

The school is also asking anyone who lives in the Ulverston and surrounding area to get in touch if they think a family member attended the school and served and fought during World War I.
