Tour of Britain underway in Cumbria
Stage Four of the Tour of Britain began in Carlisle city centre this morning. Yesterday's Stage Three winner Mark Cavendish and Bradley Wiggins joined over 100 competitors over the start line in Carlisle before heading south towards Penrith.
Fans who had turned out to see the cycling stars in Carlisle enjoyed the experience.
Crowds gathered in Penrith to cheer on the cyclists as they passed through the town.
After Penrith, the cyclists faced their first tough challenge of the day as they made their way up Shap summit.
Hundreds of people waited at the top of Shap summit to wave on the Tour, as riders prepared for a fast descent into Kendal.
