"All shook up" but Elvis loving parrot is home

It's been 12 months since Memphis made his bid for freedom and became a dot on the horizon as he flew out of the door of a holiday caravan in Silloth.

Almost a year to the day since he went missing Memphis was discovered whistling and singing in a tree two miles from where he was last seen.

His owners Stevie Vevers, better known locally as Stevie Las Vegas, had spent months searching trees and handing out leaflets. They were astonished when he reappeared so close to home.

The Elvis impersonator recognised his African Grey on first sight.
