Paralympic flame lit on Scafell Pike
A group of disabled and non-disabled Scouts have climbed to the top of Scafell Pike, England’s highest mountain, to create the English Paralympic flame.
At the sametime flames have been lit on top of the highest mountains of Wales Scotland and Northern Ireland.
Scouts used the traditional technique of rubbing flint together to create sparks and kindle a flame. The Flame has now been placed in a miner's lantern and taken to London where it will be the focus for a day of Paralympic celebrations.
