Hawick flood plans open to public
Flood defences will be built in Hawick but not in the near future.
Consultants have been developing plans to protect the town over the last two years. They now have a number of options on show in a public exhibition for the towns people give their opinions on.
The project manager Conor Price explained to ITV Border why it was important for a pubic exhibition, who will benefit and why it has taken so long.
Stewart Marshall is the Chair of the Hawick volunteer flood group, he explained how it's important that people of Hawick and the surrounding area and give their opinions on the schemes.
The exhibition is open to everyone in the Heart of Hawick from Wednesday 18th and Thursday 19th July.
