Students help out in taming string of wild ponies
College students are helping to tame a string of wild ponies that have been brought to the Scottish Borders.
The semi-feral ponies were rescued from the Highlands last year, where they were running wild and at risk of becoming welfare cases.
Ian and Jenny Stark from Dryden Riding Centre near Selkirk brought seven of the ponies to their stables, to begin life as riding school ponies.
So far, three of the ponies can now behandled and ridden, with the help of Horse Care students at Scottish BordersCollege.
Horse Care students at Scottish Borders College Katie Stephen and Amber Moffett say handling the wild ponies has built their confidence and given them experience for work in the future.
